0.15ct Antique Art Deco 14K White Gold Filigree Diamond Brooch Pin
Antique Art Deco 14K White Gold Filigree Diamond Brooch Pin. Absolutely stunning piece of history! This gorgeous brooch dates back to 1920-1930. It's design features rectangular and half round shapes in the classic art deco style with tiny beads, crescent moons in marquise shapes on either side of the center diamond and circle shapes throughout. The profile view features triangles and lines all the way around the outer edges of the brooch. The clasp is an early hinged clasp, with the hook appearing like a c clasp. The catch pivots perfectly and snaps into place to secure the pin. On the hook of the clasp, the maker's mark can be seen as well as 14.
The diamonds are old European cut diamonds with a total of 3 diamonds gracing the face of this brooch. The center diamond is 2mm and in todays weights, would be a 0.03ct. The 2 outside diamonds measure 2.5mm and would be 0.06ct each for a total of 0.15ct comparable to todays brilliant cut diamonds. So as a rough estimate, these diamonds equal approximately 0.2ct +/- 0.05ct.
The brooch is in excellent condition with very little wear. There's 2 spots above the right and below the left diamonds that looks gold or copper in color. The right diamond also has gold color in the outer setting. Please see photos.
