Vintage red painted wood spider brooch with c clasp.
This adorable little guy is made of wood and handpainted with a thick layer of red lacquer. He's dated to around 1940. He features black and white painted eyes and a black band on his back. His legs are gold tone and made of rectangle heavy gauge wire. The pin is a c clasp style with a simple hook and pin set up. The clasp functions well. He's unmarked.
The bum of the spider has a line of chipped paint and you can see down to the wood center. It's possible that this can be repaired with the right color and a very thick layer or 2 of lacquer.
